We work directly with your insurance company and help you understand your estimate, your options and your rights as a policyholder.
Dealing with an insurance claim after a collision can be more stressful than the accident itself, especially when you're not sure what you're entitled to or how the estimate process works. SV Collisions works directly with insurance carriers on collision repairs and can help explain the process so you know what to expect.
One thing worth knowing: in California, you have the right to choose your own repair shop after an accident, even if your insurance company suggests a shop from their own network. We're happy to work with whichever carrier is handling your claim.

We review your insurance estimate and explain what it does and doesn't cover.
We coordinate directly with your insurance company throughout the repair.
If hidden damage is found once repair starts, we document it and work with your carrier on a supplement.
We explain your options between OEM and aftermarket parts where applicable.
We help coordinate timing with your insurance-provided rental car benefit where available.
Detailed documentation and photos throughout the repair for your insurance records.
After your insurance company or their adjuster provides an initial estimate, we inspect the vehicle ourselves to confirm the scope of damage. If we find damage the initial estimate didn't account for — which is common with hidden structural or mechanical damage — we document it and submit a supplement to your carrier.
From there, repair proceeds the same way any collision repair does: bodywork, frame straightening if needed, paint and color matching, reassembly, and a final quality check, all while keeping you and your insurance company updated on progress.
If the damage is covered under your policy (such as collision or comprehensive coverage, or the at-fault driver's liability coverage), your insurance company will typically pay for covered repairs, minus any applicable deductible.

Requirements vary by insurance company. Some accept a single shop estimate, others request more than one. We can provide documentation to support your claim either way.
Yes, this is your right as a policyholder in California, and choosing an insurance-recommended shop is never mandatory.
